Starting a Practice Test:
There are three ways you can take a practice test:
- Create a new test ID: If this is the first time you have taken a practice test from the Ohio Success Website or if you would like to start a new test ID, you need to do two things before you can proceed:
- Take note of your test ID. A new test ID appears every time you open a new browser window.

- Click “I’m Ready.” You will be directed to a page where you can choose the attributes of your practice test (e.g., subject, grade).
- Select a previous test you took in the current browser window: If you would like to retake or continue a previous practice test from the browser window you are currently using, click the
button. This button appears only if you took one or more practice tests using the current browser window or session. If you select this option, you will be directed to a page where you can select any previous test from a drop-down list or start a new test.
- Reuse a previous test ID: If you would like to reuse a test ID (you must know what this test ID is) to retake or continue a previous practice test from another browser window or session, enter the ID in the text field and click “Log In.” If you select this option, you will be directed to a page where you can select your previous test from a drop-down list or start a new test.
Starting a Practice Test (after having logged in)
On this page, you can do either of two steps:
- Select a previously run test: From the drop-down list, select a test you would like to retake or continue. The list includes information on the test administration (e.g., 2005–2006), semester (e.g., Spring), grade and subject (e.g., Grade 4 Writing), and the date you took the practice test (e.g., Oct 18). After you have chosen a test, click
to proceed. You will be directed to the last question you had worked on.

- Start a new test under a test ID you have chosen: You can also choose to begin a new test by clicking the
button. This test will be saved under the test ID specified on this page. You will be directed to a page where you can choose the attributes of your practice test (e.g., subject, grade).
Choosing a Practice Test
Practice tests are categorized by the following attributes (in this order): subject, grade, year of test administration, and semester. To select a test, follow these three steps:
1. Choose which attributes you would like for your practice test. You can do this by clicking the
sign to expand a category and see the values below it or the
sign to collapse the category.
2. The lowest level in the hierarchy of attributes is the semester (e.g., spring, summer, fall). Select a semester by clicking on the radio button beside it.

3. Once you have selected a semester, click the
button to proceed.

Here are some symbols that can help you:
